Therapy
Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) therapy is designed to support children who are Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs). Unlike analytic language processors who learn language in single words and phrases, GLPs acquire language in "chunks" or gestalts—such as entire phrases or sentences they hear in their environment. NLA therapy is grounded in the understanding that GLPs progress through six stages as they move from echolalic speech (repeating phrases verbatim) to generative, flexible language. By identifying a child's current stage in this process, NLA therapy provides individualized, supportive interventions tailored to their unique language profile.
